Paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics and engraved pebbles? A stone's throw from the Trocadero, the Musée de l'Homme highlights the influence of rock art on Picasso's work. An artistic dialogue between the artist's work and prehistoric objects, some of which were unearthed at the beginning of the 20th century, such as cave paintings, cave engravings, megalithic sites, pieces of furniture and Paleolithic Venuses.
Picasso's genius is not limited to painting. In Vallauris, on the Côte d'Azur where the artist lived from 1948 to 1955, the Magnelli Museum houses a rich collection of ceramic objects produced by the artist in his Madoura workshop. Part of this prolific oeuvre can be discovered throughout the summer season as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Picasso's death in which the Vallauris Ceramics Museum is participating. On May 6 and 7, 2023, on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, a series of celebrations are planned in the town of Vallauris Golfe-Juan.

José Clemente Orozco was a painter who was part of the generation of Mexican muralism that emerged in the first half of the 20th century. Along with Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros, he became a fundamental reference of this movement and of Latin American art. Beyond these well-known facts, it is worth asking who José Clemente Orozco was, what was his style or what characterized him, what were his most important works and where are they to be found.
BiographyJosé Clemente Orozco: Self-Portrait He was born in Jalisco on November 23, 1883. His parents were Irineo Orozco Vázquez and Rosa Juliana Flores Navarro. He spent part of his childhood in Guadalajara and then in Mexico City, where he became acquainted with the work of José Guadalupe Posada.
In 1897 his family enrolled him in the National School of Agriculture in San Jacinto, where he graduated as an agricultural engineer. During this period, before graduating, he earned his living surveying maps.
His first jobsStarting in 1911 he earned his living as a cartoonist in the publications El Hijo del Ahuizote, El Imparcial and La Vanguardia. In 1913 he became director of the publication La Malora.
