Sobre el autorDale Carnegie fue un conferenciante y autor estadounidense de superación personal. Nacido en 1888, Carnegie era hijo de un granjero y trabajó durante toda su infancia ayudando a sus padres en diversas tareas de la granja. Sin embargo, tuvo la suerte de estudiar en una escuela de magisterio cercana. Carnegie trabajó como vendedor y actor antes de dedicarse a impartir cursos de oratoria en una sucursal de la YMCA de Nueva York, donde vivía en ese momento. La carrera de orador de Carnegie despegó y su éxito le permitió publicar varios de sus libros. Alcohol abuse has both short-term and long-term risks.[5] If a person drives while intoxicated or binge drinks excessively (more than five standard drinks in one sitting), he or she is considered to be engaging in alcohol abuse. Short-term alcohol abuse includes, among other situations, violence, injury, unprotected sexual activity, and, in addition, social and financial problems.[6] Alcohol abuse is also considered to be a form of alcohol abuse.
Excessive alcohol consumption combined with the stress of returning to work is a contributing factor in Monday deaths from heart attacks.[12] The chances of becoming dependent are greatly increased in men who have 15 or more drinks each week or in women who have 12 or more drinks each week. This is known as alcohol dependence.[13] The signs of alcohol abuse are related to the signs of alcohol dependence.
Signs of alcohol abuse are related to the effects of alcohol on organs. However, although these findings are present they are often not necessary to make a diagnosis of alcohol abuse. Signs of alcohol abuse show its drastic effects on the central nervous system; in addition to drunkenness and poor judgment there is chronic anxiety, irritability, and insomnia. The effects of alcohol on the liver include elevation of liver function tests (classically, AST is at least twice as high as ALT). Prolonged consumption leads to cirrhosis and liver failure.
