Influences on young people
Social networks and their influence on young people and children: analysis on instagram, twitter and youtube.
Adolescence and social pressure often have a close relationship: several statistics point out that the influence of friends' behaviors on people is greater then than in other stages of life.
There are different types of social pressure in adolescence: on the one hand, positive and negative, and on another level, verbal and silent. All of them can significantly influence adolescent girls' decisions and behaviors.
Sometimes, social pressure results in harmful or risky behaviors, but it can also have a positive influence on girls, as when it motivates them to do their best in school.
Thus, negative social pressure can persuade them to engage in harmful behaviors or even against certain rules, while positive social pressure can encourage them to make healthy choices that are beneficial to themselves and others.
Learning to manage social pressure in adolescence involves the ability to plan ahead, cultivate appropriate friendships, and maintain open communication with trusted adults.
